This paper introduces a new probability distribution, the Odd Burr XII Gompertz (OBXIIGo) distribution, which extends the flexibility of the standard four-parameter family of Burr-type distributions. The fundamental statistical properties of the OBXIIGo distribution are derived and analyzed, including its moments, quantile function, and order statistics. Parameter estimation is performed using the Maximum Likelihood Estimation (MLE) method, and the performance of the estimators is further assessed through Monte Carlo simulation experiments.
To demonstrate the practical utility of the OBXIIGo distribution, two real-world datasets are analyzed. The findings confirm that the proposed distribution offers a superior fit and enhanced modeling capability compared to existing models. The OBXIIGo distribution exhibits high adaptability across diverse application domains, particularly in reliability modeling and data analysis.
